JMI Youth Big Band live at the EFG London Jazz Festival

Join the JMI Youth Big Band for a dynamic performance that fuses the spirit of jazz with the rich musical heritage of North African and Andalusian Jewish traditions. Under the direction of Sam Eastmond, the band presents bold new compositions and vibrant arrangements that bring ancient melodies into thrilling dialogue with contemporary jazz.

This special concert – as part of the London Lineup – features a collaboration with acclaimed UK cellist and composer Shirley Smart, whose music draws on a decade of immersion in Middle Eastern styles including Algerian Chaabi, Moroccan Gnawa, Arabic song, Mizrachi pop, and Klezmer.
