European Cantors has again teaming up with The Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (MAZSIHISZ) to present the 16th European Cantors Convention in Budapest, Hungary from Wednesday 4th to Sunday 8th December 2024 at the Rumbach Street Synagogue, Budapest.
The themes this year are Connecting the Shaliach with the Tzibbur and focusing on Cantorial Training in Europe.
As always, the Convention is open to practising cantors and all interested in the music of the synagogue. The programme is almost full but any cantors and others who would still like to be included in the programme should contact us by return (contact convention@cantors.eu) to see if we can see if we can fit you in to the exciting programme of lectures, panel discussions, masterclasses, choral workshops, open mics, and concerts.

The planned programme will be published shortly but the themes we are focusing on this time are:
- Connecting the Shaliach with the Tzibbur – the prayer leader with the community
- We are also looking at Cantorial training for today and where it is happening around the world
- And we are commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Holocaust in Hungary.
Â
There will be panel sessions related to this, and all of the precious sessions that we allocate should address these themes in some way.

- Professor Mark Kligman is again conducting an orchestral ensemble with a convocation of international cantorss
- Maestro Max Stern will again work with the Hungarian choir who will sing his Prayer for Israel and Holocaust composition.
- There will be the usual masterclasses, choral workshops, open mics, and concerts and a truly wonderful Shabbat.
