Anotimpurile: The Four Seasons – Harrow Primary Schools (Spring & Summer 2025)

Anotimpurile: The Four Seasons is a long-running and much-loved project delivered in partnership with Harrow Music Service since 2012. In 2025, the project reached new audiences at Marlborough Primary School (Spring Term) and Weald Rise Primary School (Summer Term), engaging five classes across Years 3 and 5.

Led by percussionist and educator Simon Roth, with support from a talented team of musicians including Adina Presman, Dunja Botic, Susi Evans, Josh Middleton, and Anna Lowenstein, the 10-week programme introduced pupils to the folk traditions of Eastern Europe. Children explored Romanian, Serbian, and Jewish songs celebrating the four seasons, learning to sing, play the accordion and bodhrán, and take part in traditional dances. Each term concluded with a joyful performance for families and the wider school community, showcasing the pupils’ musical and cultural journey.

Anotimpurile offers a unique opportunity for children to connect with diverse cultures through music, rhythm, and movement—building confidence, curiosity, and a sense of shared celebration across communities.
